June #GiveBack: Donation to Cheyenne NAACP

June #GiveBack Effort: Donation to Cheyenne NAACP

Type of Volunteering: Monetary Donation
Organization: Cheyenne NAACP – Branch 4108
Outcome:  Support justice and equality efforts for people of color

We at Rocky Mountain International believe in equality and civil rights and are against discrimination of any kind; therefore, we support justice efforts in our community in hopes of moving toward an equitable future for all citizens, regardless of their race or color.

While we were seeking a way to support this effort and message of equality and justice for all citizens, we learned the local branch of the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) has been prominent with their educational events and activities with youth groups. Everything starts with education, right?

NAACP Cheyenne seeks to build ties with leaders and institutions in Cheyenne in order to advocate justice and equality for all” by advocating underrepresented groups in Wyoming and bringing young people of all backgrounds together through a variety of events. We also believe their mission is very much in line with our company core values because we care for people and our community and want to be part of positive changes. The mission of NAACP “is to secure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.”

We appreciate their work partnering with other community leaders and creating change with youth through engaging events to bring awareness to current issues. And we love seeing the Cheyenne Police Department proactively partnering with the Cheyenne NAACP by having open-dialogue sessions to amplify the voices of people of color in Cheyenne and Wyoming. We are proud of these community leaders for being active listeners and leading their efforts to create prosperity for all citizens, and we chose to be part of that.

We also invite you, our friends and families to check out their website, donate, volunteer, and take part in the elimination of race-based discrimination.
